Coach Desi touched many football players at VHS and was one of my son’s favorite baseball coaches at SMHS. Connor always kept in touch with Desi - he will be missed but always remembered ❤️

Freda - Desi was as talented and dedicated in the classroom teaching English as he was coaching baseball. He brought love and passion to athletics and education. So many young people have been touched by his warmth, humor and generous nature. He loved you and his sons so deeply and faced his illness with such courage. Every time we met or talked he expressed how fortunate he was to find you. He always said he “married up.” He wanted to show both his strength and tenderness to his sons. The dignity he demonstrated in facing his own terminal illness is quite inspirational to all of us who cared for him. There is no doubt he will be watching over you and the boys always.
