Journal entry by Dennis Ruth —
Dennis is still at UCSD La Jolla (Jacobs/Thornton Hospital) RM 516
He finished his first round of chemo - 3 days and before that 5 days of radiation directed at his arm tumor. Now we are balancing pain meds as he reacts in curious ways - delirium, hallucinations, weakness, etc. After the chemo he was on steroids which elevated his moods and he was game for round two in 3 weeks. But now in his current state he is anxious to go home and he's had enough. GET ME OUT OF HERE.
I know we will not make extreme decisions under duress so we're giving the staff time here to work with balancing his system.
He's a fighter and we will give him every opportunity to live his life out as he chooses.
We are so grateful to all who have been supportive and generous in so many ways.
