Journal entry by Kerri Becker

Dennis Bryson born in Laconia New Hampshire (August 14th, 1961) passed away early in the morning on December 18th after a nearly two-year fight with cancer. Dennis proudly enlisted in the United States Coast Guard directly after high school and served for 28 years before retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer in Singapore. He then began working for the American Bureau of Shipping in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and finally New Orleans. He was a giver in every sense of the word who was most concerned with providing a great life to his family; to which he succeeded greatly. Dennis was an avid sports fan (Saints, Red Sox, Patriots and Pelicans) and enjoyed attending festivals and live music. He lived a life filled with friends and family with whom he shared joy and laughter. His smile will be remembered by many. Dennis will be dearly missed by his surviving family. His wife of 37 years, Monique Bryson; his son: Ian Bryson; his daughter Nicole Bryson Stevens (Michael); his grandchildren, Sonny & Bowie Stevens; and a host of brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Ted Bryson and his brother, Donald Bryson. Dennis’s funeral will be held at the chapel at Christ Church Cathedral (2919 St Charles Avenue New Orleans) at 2pm December 30th, 2021. We will honor him by spreading his ashes at sea in Florida in the coming summer (details to come). In lieu of sending flowers, please donate to the Coast Guard Mutual Assistance in his name: (https://secure.qgiv.com/for/cgma/ ). We ask that you follow all Covid protocols.
