Journal entry by Carol Collett —
Last week Denise had her second six-hour chemo treatment at MD Anderson in Phoenix. Before her treatment she met with her oncologist who passed along the good news that her bloodwork analysis reflects the chemo is having a very positive effect on her cancer. It appears her “numbers” are moving rapidly downward in the right direction. Of course, Denise was very pleased to receive this favorable report.
After this second treatment she is experiencing a significant amount of what she describes as “deep bone pain” and headaches but fortunately she has no nausea. Sleeping through the night has been difficult, but fortunately, she can nap during the day. As expected, she is rapidly losing her hair and will probably be adorning beanie caps soon.
A long-time good friend, JJ, from California is temporarily staying with her. He is a wonderful, caring friend who has been a huge help to her and she is so grateful for his loving support and company. She thanks everyone for their continued well wishes and prayers.
