My name is Joquita. It conotates a certain culture. But I am as white as they come. Anytime I would call and your dad would answer, he would tell your mom, “It’s the white girl with the black name!” Your mom was always horrified. “Mark! You can’t say that!” It became one of our favorite things! I had the honor, and it was an honor, to work alongside your mother for 23 years in labor and delivery. And I collect Daschunds. Real ones, fake ones, ceramic, metal, it doesn’t matter how they come. I collect them. I can’t tell you how many times your mother would come to work, having just returned from a trip, usually to see her parents. She would say, “Jo, I saw this little daschund in a shop and you just HAD to have it!” She was Sooo kind. To say that she will be missed in our unit, doesn’t even begin to describe the hole that she leaves behind. Thank you so much for sharing her with us.

Julie, thank you for sharing this. It was such an incredible service. I will watch this many times. Your mother was truly honored by her family yesterday!
