The Artyukins' beautiful Far East port city, Vladivostok, September, 2018, during the festival of the Tall Ships Regatta -- you can see some of the ships under full sail just beyond the buildings in the background. Vladivostok has a fascinating history: built as a military outpost by the Soviets, it remained a "closed city" until 1969. In just the last five years, the Russian Federation has invested tremendously into the city, building several new bridges, a new world class university for 30,000 students, a state-of-the-art oceanarium.
