Delores Jean Bowermaster, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2020 at Porter Hospital in Denver, Colorado after a brief illness. She was 86 years old.

Delores was born to Mary and James Musen in Ashland, Kentucky on October 1, 1934. She graduated from Franklin High School in Franklin, Ohio and attended classes at The Ohio State University and Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Chicago.  She married the love of her life, Richard E. Bowermaster on August 20, 1955; and they began a family and a life of Christian service together.

Delores worked for many years as a librarian in Ohio, Kansas and in Colorado.  Her library experience was varied and ranged from public libraries, to school libraries, and to a library at Fort Carson, Colorado. She also managed fundraisers for the American Baptist Ministers and Missionaries fund, organized children’s Christmas plays, and served as a Sunday School teacher for many years.

Delores will be remembered as a beloved mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader and was famous for her holiday pies. In her spare time, she crocheted hats for children and in recent years made over 500 hats which were sent to children in Asia and Appalachia. She loved candles and Christmas Time and creating memorable holiday experiences for her family. She was the keeper of the family history. Above all, she loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ricky, and her husband of 62 years, Richard. She is survived by her brother, Jim Musen and his wife Jenny; her sister, Sharon Tippett and her husband Kenny: her daughters, Mary O’Neil and her husband Kevin, and Ellen Welch and her husband Steve; her sons, Danny Bowermaster, and Phil Bowermaster and his wife Suraya; and her grandchildren, Hannah Savoie and her husband Elie; Hailey Bowermaster, Cooper Bowermaster, Nick Bowermaster, Erin Welch, Molly O’Neil, Ciara O’Neil, Sefra Bowermaster, Kahlil Bowermaster, and Zahra Bowermaster.
