Journal entry by Deb Milner

An eventful week. Yesterday held a "reality check" as the port was inserted. So much for the (completely unrealistic) hope that at some point someone was going to jump up and yell "April Fool" or that I'd wake up and find out this has all just been a bad dream. No, the port is in and while on the long term it will help things immensely, on the short it just hurts. I also had to have another two units of packed cells yesterday, after getting a unit on Sunday. This is concerning, and will be discussed with the doctor tomorrow.

Moffitt has my medical records, the doctors are reviewing and I should be getting a call from them today or tomorrow to setup an appointment to start the stem cell transplant (HSCT) evaluation process. Danny is still up for a heart cath on Monday.

Once again we are caught in Humana Hell as they have claims that should have been processed weeks ago that are stuck in the "in process" stage and are not getting paid. Will be stopping by the congressman's office tomorrow to see if they can light a fire under them.

Later gang.
