Debbie’s Story

Site created on October 16, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We are thankful for your support and words of hope and encouragement during this challenging time. As many of you know, Debbie's recent diagnosis with Stage 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma is not the only battle she is fighting. She has lived with Major Depressive Disorder for most of her adult life, and now the time has come for her to use the strength she greets each day with to clear another of life's hurdles.

On Friday, October 12, Debbie's doctors decided to install a port in order to make her upcoming chemotherapy easier to administer. Her first treatment will be on Thursday, October 18 and will continue once every three weeks for a total of six sessions. Debbie is also scheduled for the second of two biopsies on Wednesday, October 17.

As a self-proclaimed "computer illiterate" person, this site will mainly be updated by her daughter, Lily. However, we hope that you will comment to cheer her on and say hello, as your words of support mean the world to her and will certainly be a light along the taxing journey that lies ahead.

Please feel free to send mail to 15 Parkcrest Ct, Simpsonville, South Carolina, 29681.

Thank you for visiting. We hope you will keep Debbie in your thoughts and continue to show this remarkably strong woman how much she is loved and cared for.

The prayers, love and kindness that has been sent to me and my family over the past 6 months has been amazing. Thank you for everything!

The surgery was successful! The surgeon only had to remove 3 lymph nodes. The tumor had shrunk significantly thanks to the chemo. That area was removed along with the tissue surrounding it. The surgeon was very happy with the outcome.

Thank you to Jeff and Sandi over the last few days helping me to make decisions and keeping me occupied when I would start getting anxious, keeping the hospital staff aware of my needs and keeping family, friends and loved ones updated on my status.
A huge thank you to everyone who called and sent their love and prayers. I am sooo very lucky to have such fantastic people in my life!

To round out my busy Wednesday....I rode home in my new car! Sandi and Jeff had picked the car up while I was in surgery! I was so surprised, possibly speechless...I know, hard to believe.

💕 thank you to everyone 💕.     Love, Debbie
