Debbie’s Story

Site created on August 13, 2019

Debbie first got diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003. After a lot of hardworking, prayers and chemo she beat it! But about 5 years ago her cancer came back. This time it was stronger at stage 4. She took on the second round of cancer with such strength and positivity. She went to find the best medical team she could, that lead her to Mass General. She found Dr. Juric, he started her on trial medications right away. These medications are new and have unexpected symptoms. With every awful and unusual symptom she took it with stride and a smile. She took long trips to Boston, was working full time, and is continued to be an amazing mother and grandmother. Many people have been surprised to know the illness she has been fighting because she does not show it in the least. In the last couple weeks her cancer has grown more aggressive and she has exhausted all trial medications. She had begun chemo but unfortunately her body got too sick. Once the cancer spread to her lungs there were no further treatments available. Debbie is a strong, passionate, determined, and positive person. She is taking it day by day, with smile on her face happy to have each day that is given to her.
