Journal entry by Stacey Walter —
When I started this blog a few months ago, I was unsure of what the coming weeks & months would be like for Debbie and our whole family. The great news is that I am so thrilled to share that Debbie is now pain free and is feeling back to normal! We are so thankful to God for the wonderful doctors and treatment she has received.
Based on the fact that her pain is now gone, it was determined she has neuropathy, which was caused by the estrogen levels being forced so low by the cancer medications. It was necessary reduce the estrogen levels to stop the progression of the breast cancer. So we are learning to deal with the fact that treating cancer isn’t an exact science, rather a series of tests and trials to see how the medications best work together. It took 7 weeks in total to determine this was a potential issue and for the meds to kick in and to balance out with her other cancer medication.
Thank you so much for all of your concern and prayers. It means so much to have family and friends stand with our family during this time. It was especially touching to me during this time to see the outpouring of love on our family from so many locations around the world. It reminded me of all the places we have lived and the wonderful friends we have made along the way.
I will not be updating this site anymore (at least I hope for a long time)...thanks again for your love and support!
