Journal entry by Debbie Lazinsky —
Last week Rebecca and her crew from Life Maid Heavenly crowned my house for free! Rebecca’s business participates in Cleaning for a Reason, a national nonprofit that partners cancer patients with a local cleaning service. Patients receive one or two free cleanings. This was the best gift ever! My house is spotless. Life Maid Heavenly is very detail oriented. They cleaned spots I often miss.
Spectrum News picked up the story about Cleaning for a Reason and Rebecca offering her services to patients. The filming was in my house and I’ll be part of the story. It wasn’t easy to be on camera right now. I know it’s good PR for this helpful nonprofit and the companies they partner with.
Another helpful event happened last week. A
local Girl Scout troop spruced to my garden beds for me. Each scout has to do 20 hours of community service to earn a badge. Four wonderful scouts and their moms spent four hours weeding my flower beds and cleaning up some brush. Usually gardening is something I look forward to. This year it was not going to happen.
I’m grateful for the help from these two groups. The timing was perfect. The work was done days before my chemotherapy appointment.
Today is my last chemotherapy! More on this later. ❤️❤️❤️
