Debbie and Chuck’s Story

Site created on May 14, 2019

On Friday, May 12, Debbie along with Chuck, Melinda and I received word from her doctor that she has stage 3 Ovarian Cancer.  Although we were completely overwhelmed with the news, we all agreed that this is the journey that the Lord has us on and we will trust Him for strength and complete healing.  Upon sharing the news with family and friends, we have all had an outpouring of love, prayers and support and we read each message from you and treasure them.  Mom asked me to start this site as a way to keep you all updated so you can be in prayer for her as she battles cancer.  Thank you for walking this road with us.  Much love to you all, Jennifer

Yesterday we celebrated Thanksgiving together and had a wonderful time.  The huge void we all felt didn't keep us from laughing and celebrating the Lord's goodness to us.

It hasn't  gotten any easier.  You know this because you have loved and lost as well but being together felt good.  Our family has added another member!!  Melinda's son, Cade, will marry Mikaela in May.  She is adorable and fits right in with the Bridwell grandkids.

Dad is doing well.  He is very active in Bible study, church and community choirs, and is arranging music for fun and some he has sent off to be considered for publishing.  The nerves below his knees have not repaired but he gets along pretty well with a cane or walker.  He and I participated in Griefshare which is a wonderful recovery program that is hosted in churches all over the country.  We both got a lot out of the group and he met some wonderful new friends.

My daughter, Julia, and her husband Matthew are living in the upstairs portion of his house and this is great for everyone.  My dad especially loves their French bulldog, Lil' G.

We are so grateful for your friendship!  Dad has had many visitors from long time friends this year and these visits always lift his spirits!

We hope you have a wonderful holiday season with your families.

Love,

Jennifer
