Journal entry by Debbie Auld

Hi!

So the fight is on. Im at emory starting chemo to fight Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. Ill be receiving 3 different chemo drugs. Two at the clinic and one delivered by pump at home for 48 hours. My oncologist said I would be on chemo the rest of my life, Not necessarily this regimen but if we see positive results, she will move on reducing the chemo. They way we will be able to assess if chemo is working is watching the scans every two months and hoping for regression of disease or poss stability with no growth.

So it begins. So far so good. They prepared me for some of the unusual side effects such as body wise pins and needles. My hands mostly - feels like they hace been asleep with periodic sharp jolts. Cant drink cold or hot fluids right now because I am overly sensitive to temperature. It sould get slowly better. Other than that, Im tired but no nausea. All expected.

I am seeking other opinions for possible research studies that my be available should this treatment plan fail. Gonna be traveling to MD Anderson and John Hopkins.

My daughter has set up a go fund me page to assist with the cost of travel and hospital costs. There is a link at the end of this if you can help. Im usually the giver...i dont like asking for help but if you can its much appreciated. Mostly I beg for prayers. My failth is strong and Im not afraid of leaving but really would like to be with my family and friends a little while longer. So if you believe in prayers as much as i do, please be my prayer warrior. It will be greatly appreciated.

Love
Deb
