Journal entry by Deana Kraus

I had my 6 week follow up with Dr. Lonner in NYC on Thursday. I thought I’d be a bit farther along in the healing process. I didn’t realize they had to do a rib resection also since not only did my spine have a double curve but it was also rotating and twisting.  The rib removal helped to untwist my body, but boy the pain! I can finally cough lightly but sneezing is earth shattering. So, since I virtually had 3 surgeries, healing time has doubled. I’m hoping in another 6 weeks I be feeling much better. We have my next follow up in early August.
Unfortunately, I had to leave my job at Keyano since starting back slowly in the salon (I miss my clients and doing what I love) and starting PT/rehab several days a week. Having a 3rd thing on my plate is just too much. I need to focus on recovery and getting my life back to a more comfortable place. I am taking 1-2 clients a day to begin with and then listening to my body and going from there. Once, I start PT I believe I will start progressing nicely. My body and mind are quite stunned since it’s been forced into different positions. Lots of stiffness and knots in my soft tissue. Richie has been doing his best to be my physical, massage and psychotherapist lol Now that I am cleared we can hand that stuff over to the professionals. It’s really been a lot on Rich. He deserves a metal! 🎖 He is a wonderful husband and his love is immeasurable. I am eternally grateful for such a wonderful man. If you see Rich, please give him a pat on the back. He deserves it!
