Dawn, the Phoenix holds a special place in my heart too. My oldest goes to Phoenix Academy, the alternative MS/HS in our district. He’s wrapping up 9th grade, his first year in the program, and he’s thriving in such a way I never thought possible again. I am wholly confident that sitting right with your guardian angels are just as many phoenix keeping watch. I think of you often. ❤️

Hello! How special to be able to read about the Phoenix and the Joni Mitchell song. I’m over here with goosebumps. You really are an incredible writer; there is nothing you cannot do. I had never thought about the words, but coincidentally, I looked it up recently. I like the line where it talks about the moon because anything celestial reminds me of you. Keep posting. Ps- coming to Rochester in June and would love to see you. ❤️ Forever, Jul

So your Phoenix symbol reminds me of the Emily Dickinson poem that has given me so much solace. I can only remember my two favorite verses:

Hope is a thing with feathers,
That nestles in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all.

I’ve hear in it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

Love and prayers, Lindsay

As always, beautiful thoughts and words. And on the days when the Phoenix doesn't inspire you, there's always the drink in the glass! ;-)
