What a beautiful testimony of a church that has loved their pastor and his family! I wish we would have had the privilege to worship with them and you, Dawn and Violet at Colonial. We loved you and continue to lift you and Violet up in prayer.

Oh, how right, so complete to have Dawn’s ashes and her tree at Colonial for us to oversee and care for as we continue our healing. And to keep you close to our hearts. A tender, intimate time together at the dedication. May His blessings continue to shower you and Violet as you turn toward Chicagoland.

The story of Martin & Dawn is wonderful in showing the love and care of your church family there for you and Violet. At workshops about going through transitions, I've always heard one needs to say good/adequate good-byes to people, places, etc in relation to who and what you will be leaving. The transfer of Martin & Dawn has the feel of making a good good-bye. A peace of mind as you leave and a blessing of the ongoingness (maybe not a real word) of her legacy.

I love that Dawn and Martin have 'taken up residence' at Colonial and I loved the blessing time you graciously allowed us to share in ~ a sacred and bittersweet time. AND, I loved Violet's questions. They reflect a depth and tenderness of heart like her Mama.

I was traveling to another celebration of life last weekend so missed this moment at Colonial. Thanks for sharing it and I love the whole idea-- seems very right to have Dawn and the apple tree at Colonial. Thanks for sharing, Daniel. All our best- Anne and Perry

I'm continuing to pray daily for both of you and am also praying for Colonial Church on its search process. Wishing you many blessings on this next stage of your lives. I can't imagine how any year could possibly be harder than this one, so may that absolutely be the case.

Life has so many unforeseen uprootings, some pleasant, some that 'reduce' us to tears. May this time of transition be easy.....and if not, don't forget the truffles. Love to you both.
