“What’s most important surges to the surface when you know you’re going to die.” What a cogent illumination which casts its reflective pall and hope on my heart this afternoon. But you follow this thought with a sober acknowledgment. No, as you share so well, Daniel, Jesus does not save us from our own suffering and death here in this vale of tears!

In his book, “The Reason for God,” Timothy Keller comments that women were the first eyewitnesses to the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior. As the events following his death played themselves forward, we can follow how undeniable the resurrection is. The amazing grace of God is preparing you, Daniel, and he does walk alongside those who mourn. I truly hope your hearts (Violet’s also), though broken, are inspired by the powerful hope of the resurrection and life everlasting (with which Dawn’s passing from bodily pain into a new creation seems very intertwined).

“What’s most important surges to the surface when you know you’re going to die.” Your sharing and journey, though so painful, yet encourage and give deep consolation.

Thank you for sharing your journey, for speaking the truth, for expressing your sorrow, faith and hope that we all share with one another. For those of us who have experienced a similar journey, understand the steps you are taking on your path. Blessings to you and Violet.

That Nouwen quote is so powerful. Thank you for sharing it. And for showing us a glimpse into what it looks like to live it out. Blessings to you both.

I finally have a practical idea for something I might be able to do for Violet if she is interested. It's something I do every year with each
of our grandchildren. Let me know if she would like to hear about it. With love and prayers, Judy Wehr

I've often wondered why God chose Christ's death as the means of redemption. What you have said is so true, helps me understand suffering. Roman's 8:28 Thank you again.

You will never "get over it." You just get more used to it.
Blessings to you both.

Thanks for wearing your helmet! Every year I buy a new “organizer” (fancy calendar/folio). Yes, I know that everything can be done online, but I’m too intimidated.
Every year, I forget to utilize the nice new organizer! So use those post it’s! You might get lucky and stumble across them.
Daniel, thank you for allowing us into your grief. It is helpful and challenging all at the same time.
May you and your precious Violet know that there is an army of people caring about you as you travel this journey of life.
I pray for peace and strength as you move forward. A new life you wouldn’t have chosen, but are navigating with grace.
Peace my brother!
