Dawn’s Story

Site created on November 7, 2019

Welcome to my CaringBridge website.  I am using this to keep family and friends, and people I meet along the way, updated in one place.  A little background for those of you that might not know me as well.  I am a  47-year-old, teacher, wife, mother, and Mi-mi.  I have been teaching over 20 years.  I teach Middle School Science.  I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in November 2019. This site will allow me to take you on my journey and keep everyone informed all at once. I promise it will be filled with some laughs and some information about what is currently going on as my family and I make our way over, around, and through this new development in our lives.

Journal entry by Dawn Hale

I know it has been a while since I posted. I am on the same chemo that I have been on for a while now. It is still working well but has some side effects too. My liver counts have been a little off and some damage to two lobes of my lungs but the bad is outweighed by the good— I had a scan of my brain in the past few weeks and the one tumor that I am down to shrunk by another 2 mm. So while I feel pretty bad for all 21 days between doses it is good to know that it is working.
The whole family is trying to get used to Trevor being gone. I miss him very much, it is hard to be excited that things are going well when I don’t have him here to share with.
Sabrina had her baby— it was a boy and they named him Easton. I know we are still very blessed, just miss the love of my life.
