David  continues his battle with lung cancer. Even though the chest is clear the cancer reared it's ugly head  in David 's head .   Please follow him at this site.  Prayers are always appreciated.

Journal entry by Ursula Wold

I know it has been awhile since I have posted a journal entry but not too much to say other than recovery has been slow.  We were able to extend David's physical therapy for another month or so which I am hoping will help him gain strength in his legs.  I actually think he is walking a little better even though he is questioning that because he tires so easily.  It has been a busy week in that today he had a repeat MRI of his brain. Of course no results until next week. And then on Wednesday we sought the 2nd opinion from an Emory oncologist mostly to make sure we are not missing anything.  He did think that David should start taking a cancer targeting therapy drug called Tagrisso(sp?). We are scheduled to see our regular oncologist on Monday and will discuss this with her.  Bottom line the Emory doc said everything that has been done thus far is spot on. Needless to say this was good news as I certainly don't want to miss something.
Thank you to all who have written cards, called with words of encouragement and wonderful dinners. To all his YMCA buddies for your thoughtfulness during this time. I do ask that you continue prayers for David. It is surely the most wonderful thing you could do for my best friend.
Blessings to all of you
Ursula
