Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. (Please note that "Tributes" are gifts to this site, not out family... just a heads-up cause it is kinda confusing :)

For the background and blur of the last month on why this site is set up, please see the "Set-up and History" journal entry that has the email train of updates... begin at the bottom email and work your way up for a chronology of what's what. Since that post there have been 50+ updates

The short of it is I had melanoma in a mole behind my left ear 2 years ago... it was caught early and treated successfully at the time, however some how it 'got in' and now I have at least one lymph node that has melanoma in it in my left neck. I have surgery to remove it and other lymph nodes in my left neck on Thursday, 11 Oct. The plan was is to begin 1 year of Immunotherapy about 30-days after the surgery.

In August we learned the melanoma came back in my neck, but that it also appeared in my bones (left scapula, spine, and right femur... though the worse now is the scapula). I am now to begin 4 rounds on two immunotherapies over the next nine weeks (8/30/19 - 11/1/19) in the hope that the combo will be used of the Lord to kill off the melanoma!

Prayers are very much appreciated. Please keep my wife and children in your prayers also, as this is obviously tough on them. And please keep me in prayer also, esp. with respect to my recovery, treatment, and trust in the Lord .

My hope is in the Lord Jesus Christ and I am thankful that He has made humans to be scientifically minded and has developed amazing surgeries and therapies to treat melanoma.

Dear Caring Ones,
I know there were a number of people who were unable to attend the Memorial service. I want to make the service available for any who wish to listen to it. We were tremendously blessed by the love and support of all who were able to be there. What an outpouring of God's abundant kindness to us.
