Maria, Thank you so much for sending this prayer out to us. I stopped and thank Rev Gatewood as I was leaving the sanctuary because I thought it was a wonderful prayer and tribute to David. These next few months will be hard on you and your family. Susan and I will keep all of you in our prayers.
Thank you for sharing this prayer. The cries of your hearts are so very real and our hearts are so tenderly holding each of you, at each place where you are in how you’re feeling, holding you ever so close to our hearts at this time...and forever more. Having walked a similar path, we understand, “too soon” as well. Sending BIG hugs and much love.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful prayer. For us we hold fun and great memories of David growing up. We keep you in our prayers and to the ones that David will continue to bless who so lovingly gave so others could have a healthy life. What a beautiful spirit he had. Much love and Blessings to you.
Thank you Maria that is a beautiful prayer. Richard and I wish we could have been at David’s memorial service. All of you are in our pray.ers.

This is so fitting, Maria, capturing the raw feelings of those who find themselves dealing with the sudden and totally unexpected death of a loved one. The hole in your hearts will always be there, as will be the empty place at all future family gatherings - - but God does use time to ease the pain a tiny bit more with each passing year, I promise.
When Art Gatewood spoke these words, tears flowed....again hoping the Massie family would know how much everyone in the church ached with and for them. We are glad to see his prayer in print.........
The entire Massie family continues to be in my heart and in my prayers for the strength to carry on. David's Memorial Service was beautiful and so very meaningful for each and every one there. I hope that the Massie family realized that First (Scots) Presbyterian Church had never before held as many people, and what a loving tribute it was to this wonderful family and to their beloved David. Thank you, Maria, for sharing Rev. Gatewood's prayer, as it touched many hearts that morning, and now we can keep repeating it, as your MANY friends continue lifting up your whole family. With love and admiration, Rinne Sade
