Newest Update

Journal entry by David Kooser

It's been quite a while since I updated anyone on here.  Sorry, but didn't really have anything to say. until this week.  Then everything changed.

Monday morning I was at my computer reading some things and Melanie was helping at the food pantry in town.  All of a sudden I became dizzy to where I couldn't lift my head very high.  I grabbed my cell phone, called Melanie, and said she needed to get home right away.  She rushed home and grabbed the blood pressure monitor and we checked my blood pressure.  It was 80/57.  I'm on a medicine that will make me have low blood pressure.   Our main concern was my pulse rate that was at 177.  That was the same issue we had when I was in the hospital and had the heart issue.   Melanie rushed me  to the ER at Holton Hospital and they started running a bunch of tests.  They finally came up with the same problem that I had while I was in the Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.  Its called supraventricular tachcycardia (SVT).  It was treat with two  shot given intravenously in my left arm.  The second shot is really tough because he makes it nearly impossible to breathe, although you have to force yourself to keep breathing while they give you the shots.  They watched me a while and sent me home.

Late Monday afternoon we had the same complication with my pulse rising to160 and Melanie calling 911 per the ER in the morning.  So I got an ambulance ridge to Hiawatha Hospital ER and the exact procedures done on me as what were done in the morning at another hospital.  The only difference was that Hiawatha hospital kept me overnight for observation.

We then went to my heart clinic this afternoon to have them ask silly questions and change my meds a little bit.  Oh well, we'll see what happens.  God Is Good
