😢💔 Pastor Dave was such a special man, its so unfair that such a dynamic, graceful & phenomenal man of God succumbed to cancer, but, he won eternity with God. I know he so desperately wanted to live. Continued prayers for Susan & Lauren, Nathaniel and Spencer & your immediate family members. I will be reading his book again called 'Luminous'that he gave me & meditating on his words to strengthen my relationship with God, he was always very patient as a pastor never forcing God.
He is forever one with God & this infinite universe. He now has all the secrets to this life. Thank you to Pastor Dave, Susan and your children for allowing me to capture a small glimpse into the eye of a cancer battle & witnessing what it looks like staying faithful to God in the face of adversity through the platform Caring Bridge. Thank you for sharing such a intimate part of your lives. The lessons I have learned from you all is truly a gift from God. Every person Pastor Dave touched on earth remember God has a plan for those seeds that Dave planted in the name of the God.
Thank you to the doctors who valiantly fought to save his life by all means. Thank you to the community of extended friends and family, church community for holding Pastor Dave & his family up in prayers. I will truly miss him. Rest High 👑 David, you were one of the good ones, you were truly 'Luminous' everytime I saw you out and about in Sacramento, or at Weatherstone coffee in midtown, such a special light. 💔😢 I'm sure you earned your spot sitting at the feet of God. You're probably floating around the heavens 🌌sharing your love of God with everyone who will listen. Thank you for your courage, tremendous spirit & inspiration in guiding me back to God when I was a lost sheep. You overfilled your earthly duties & some while on planet earth. You were a great man! I salute you! 🙏You picked the right wife, God's perfect helpmate, she was with you through thick and thin. Susan's enormous strength is unimaginable, it was her battle too carrying you & your children with grace and dignity every step of the way! Truly a Saint 🙏May your family's continued healing be safely guided by God with wisdom and understanding & filled with fond memories that are forever present in their minds through the passage of time. I truly believe that Dave will always be close to you Susan, Nathaniel, Spencer and Lauren in all things, in mind, body & spirit. When you all find yourself in times of trouble he will be right besides. May all of you who knew you Pastor Dave or crossed paths with him in life, always have pleasant memories of him that bring healing and joy or a smile to your face. Pastor Dave you were always smiling, always positive, upbeat and always had wise words of encouragement when I saw you. The coolest of the coolest Pastor's, hip, funny, compassionate & always willing to stop whatever you were doing and say a prayer with me, all the while civilians looked on curiously at us while we were standing & praying in the middle of a public sidewalk. I will carry those fond memories of you with me for the remainder of my life, and be mindful just how precious life is.
God truly loves us even when life doesn't go as planned or hoped it would be. It doesn't mean that God does not love us any less or doesn't hear our prayer when the tough times weigh us down, God always has a plan. Only God can answer the unanswerable questions and answer the great mysteries of life & death. You have been freed from the bondage of a sick earthly body and have been made whole again as God's infinite heavenly child. I prayed for you all every step of the way & will continue too pray for your family.. God is good, in all things both good and bad. Jahari

David was courageous, and inspirational! We are blessed to have your family as part of our church family. May God grant you strength to endure this difficult time, and peace knowing he is now pain free in his eternal home with Jesus. Please give Nathaniel an extra hug from me and Nathan!

Dear Lauren and Family,
I'm praying for your family for comfort and strength that can only come from God Himself, and uplifted by God's people. I don't think I ever witnessed someone like your dad display the incredible grace and profound insight into his sufferring. These journals have been a source of hope and comfort through this battle that very few have traveled. Everyone was touched. I join with hundreds, if not thousands rejoicing in the life of your dad. In HIs Love, Kelby, on behalf of the Bruno family

We grieve and rejoice with you. Your dad and I were kindred spirits since the moment I met him as he was headed down here after the earthquake in Haiti. His passion and faith inspire me to give it all for the Kingdom. I will miss our breakfasts at Midwinter to catch up and the texts we shared across the ocean. God's peace to his memory and legacy.

You’re so kind and brave to let us know your father is in Heaven. We grieve with you and your family. I will pray and continue to ask the Lord to comfort you all and provide great grace for the season ahead. Your father is a kind man, and as bittersweet as it is, I am grateful that he is not suffering and that he is in the presence of Jesus. May the Lord bless you, may the Lord Make his face shine upon you, and May He give you all His Peace. My love to your mother and your entire family. ✝️💜

On behalf of the GreenHouse family and community in Sacramento, with sadness over this news, we pass along our love and prayers to you, Susan and all your family. For me personally, reading pastor David's posts felt to me Jesus' personal invitation to trust Him more fully with my life, and I am very grateful your dad chose to share that sacred space, his life, with so many.

I am heartbroken to read that David has moved on. He was a light and had an energy that pulled others like a moth to a flame 🔥

During his time he planted seeds of faith and determination that will yield a harvest for a lifetime.

Thank you for sharing him with the rest of the world.
