Journal entry by Chris Baum —
When we started this journey, we had a hard time imaging what "good" God could possible make out of our tragic loss. How could our lives be "good" without David? How would we find joy without his contagious laugh, his endearing smile, his quirky sense of humor, his eclectic taste in music? The biggest lesson God has taught our family through all of this is that joy, true joy, is not circumstantial, and joy remains in the amazing memories we cherish.
The David A Baum Foundation, fully credentialed as a 501c3, has given us an avenue for healing and a chance to give back. Through your generosity we are making strides towards preventing Cardiovascular Disease...one person at a time! We are excited to share on our website (davidabaumfoundation.org) and Instagram the stories from family, friends and acquaintances who have benefited from David's story. And we are thrilled to report that, thanks to your generosity, the David A Baum Foundation's fund at Piedmont Hospital is up and running and helping un- and under-insured folks get a Cardiac Calcium Scan, one of the three tests we strongly encourage as tools to be proactive with Cardiovascular health.
Now we "joyfully" announce that the FIRST annual David A Baum Foundation Golf Tournament will be held Tuesday, September 6 at Country Club of the South, David's "home" course (flyer attached). Our goal is be able to support other testing and expand our reach outside of the Atlanta area! Please consider coming out and playing for a worthy cause, and connecting with all of the Baum Squad...that includes YOU!
As always, we are so incredibly grateful for and appreciative of your continued prayers and support. Just this week I received the sweetest note from one of David's employees, so perfectly timed, that touched my heart and gave me great encouragement. A friend often reminds me how we never know how much our words impact people, for good or bad. So with tear in my eyes, I thank all of you again for so generously showering us with kind and encouraging words! You all rock!
With love,
Chris and TBS
