Hello all, 

I am sharing another update as I received my results from the PET Scan a lot sooner than we had expected. 

There’s some Good News and some Bad News to figure out. The PET Scan results showed that the mass is thankfully not cancer, however, the mass is made up of dead and damaged lung tissue caused by a rare form of pneumonia called necrotizing pneumonia. 

We are waiting to meet with the Infectious Disease team to determine what IV antibiotic therapy they will administer, and I will be getting daily chest scans to track if my immune system is responding. I was hopeful to be able to get discharged sooner rather than later, but will need to remain at the Royal Alex for the remainder of the week while they determine a course of action for me.

My family & I will continue to stay positive and optimistic for what my options will be.
