In the fall of 2016 David was diagnosed with Myelo fibrosis, a rare blood cancer, after completing his annual health and blood screening. David began treatment at Regional West Medical Center in ScottsBluff Nebraska for the next three years.
In the fall of 2019 his cancer advanced to an accelerated stage and his local oncologist recommended that David receive treatment at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa Florida, where she had done her residency. Earlier that fall we purchased a small Snowbird property 100 miles south of Tampa in Punta Gorda Florida. We believe that God lead us every step of this way.
David’s first appointment at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa was December 26, 2019. We moved south in January 2020 and David began his therapy and the process to lead him to a bone marrow transplant. We have been blessed that a perfect match donor was found. David is scheduled to have his transplant on December 22 of 2020. Just four days shy of a year after his first Moffitt appointment.
This journey has been seasoned with blessing after blessing. We are continually shown and reminded that God is in control and is faithful.
