Dave’s Story

Site created on September 27, 2010

UPDATED story: On March 26, 2020, nearly 10 years after the original reason for this Caring Bridge page, Dave collapsed in the early morning hours. Thankfully, Gloria heard him and called an ambulance quickly. It was discovered that he had a significant brain bleed and was flown to St. Cloud's hospital. Due to COVID-19, we are unable to be at the hospital with him. He is in the ICU as they work to determine the cause of the bleed and our next steps.

On Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010 Dave collapsed while in Willmar. He was unresponsive at first. Gloria was able to get Dave breathing after hitting his chest several times. At the Willmar hospital they discovered several blood clots in his lungs, including the one that had been blocking his airway. They then flew him to Hennepin County Medical Center. He is in the ICU. They administered a clot buster that worked at breaking up the clots, but caused some bleeding in the brain. This is our major concern at this point.
