Newest Update

Journal entry by Pamela Anderson

Sorry for the long delay in updates. Been so busy in the last 2 weeks that i haven't had much time.

Dad: Dad has been getting his Chemo treatments just like normal and his arm is getting much better. He actually went to lunch this past Wednesday with the "car guys". I was rather worried though as dad started complaining about his foot hurting a few days prior. Said that he had a callus that was bothering him. I informed him that with him being type 1 diabetic he should be seeing a podiatrist once a month. He hasn't seen one in a few years. Well by Friday he couldn't stand it and his foot started to turn gray in color. I told him to call the clinic immediately and tell them he is a chemo patient and diabetic and that he needed to be seen NOW. He did and they informed him to go to emergency and that they would be better equipped to help him. In doing so last night they ended up admitting him and now today at 1:30 he will have surgery on his right foot to remove the infection and see how far the infection has went. Please pray that it hasn't gotten into his bone. One thing I was able to get redemption for was the doctor told him today that he should be seeing a podiatrist once a month. LOL ha ha your daughter was right.

MOM: Well we got the PET scan results and they came back negative so just the one spot of cancer. YEA!! so that means that she gets radiation for 5 treatments over the course of 2 weeks. Monday, Wednesday and Friday the first week and Tuesday, Thursday the second week and she is done, and she has a 90% chance of being cancer free after its all done. However, she had another A-Fib issue this last week again. Third one in a year. So now she needs yet another follow up with the cardiologist and hopefully finding out how to get her scheduled for that procedure to help with the A-Fib. She is enjoying not having dad at home for a while as it has been a full time job taking care of him. So she is cleaning and making it look not so much like a hospital room around the house. Her memory is still questionable but seems to be ok this week. She is going to try to make it to her appointment at Mercy Specialty center on Monday for her Mapping appointment to map out the radiation treatments. Please continue your prayers and encouraging messages.
