I am grateful that Dave and Mary took me into their home and their lives in April of 1970 in Singapore. I served with him in Singapore from 4/70-4/72. I lived with them for nearly 1 1/2 years and the remainder was spent with Thomas Chua and Kim Tok in an apartment in Queenstown, Singapore. These guys were great roommates and I still love them dearly. I recall some good times and eating Durian with Mary and Thomas and Kim Tok and Doreen and LeAnn our nanny. They were all good friends. I miss our Durian times but still eat it. Dave abstained and could not stand the smell. I recall sons David and John and how David used to tease his brother. I believe they were probably about 4 and six then but could be off a ways. Dave was a unique man. He was a man that commanded your attention. I especially learned that when I irritated him at time. I learned later that he taught me much for which I am grateful. His focus on a task was incredible. He was also a man of a huge sense of humor. I loved most of his humor. He dearly loved the Singaporean people we worked with. The body of Christ has lost a warrior and I lost a friend. He ended well and served well and his legacy will live on forever in those the Lord granted him t ouch. My prayers are with the family.
Thank you Mary for being the champion behind the champion.

Yes, when Dave was in Singapore n whenever he quoted “Well done, thou good and faithful servant”, he would have that special look akin to his desire . Surely his life’s desire has been fulfilled as the Father will surely greet him with those very words he loved n lived his time here.

David Lawrence Dawson was one among perhaps of 5 men who had the greatest impact on my life. Living in his Navigator Home in San Antonio,Texas, was a turning point in my life. As you all know, Dave was an excellent teacher, he took us blade and point to the essential basics of Christian Life and Living...that being Jesus Christ the Lord. Dave taught much which aided and abetted my life. Yet, what I remember, what I caught was how he actually lived. David L. Dawson. He was kind, good, giving, loving. But what I remember always stayed with me: How he loved Jesus the Lord, and how he was consumed with a singular Passion for His Glory. He could at times be a rough Apostle...but oh how he burned to take us to Heaven with him.
