I shared the x-ray images with Darr Leutz, and he tells me I'm quite lucky that I won't need surgery to pin things in place. Fortunately the impact was straight onto the head of the shoulder, and while it busted up the distal end of the clavicle, it didn't really displace things very much. And gravity plus the immobilizer winds up leaving everything in essentially the normal positions. So as long as I'm a VERY GOOD boy, and keep it immobilized with that strap-up thingie 24/7, it should knit properly without needing to be pinned. It's now been almost 4 weeks and I've been doing just that -- so hopeful this upcoming ortho apptmt on Tuesday will show things stable and hooking up properly. Fingers crossed.

About the time I'll be ready to start rehab and PT on the shoulder, will be right when I'll be checking into the hospital for the Stem Cell transplant. So that will give me some additional motivation and physical things to work on during recovery from the transplant -- they encourage the transplantees to be up and active as much as possible. So that works in neatly, methinks.
