I do miss him. He and I often played the "Where Am I?" game if we happened to be in a restaurant we knew the other loved, no matter what city we were in--we shared some favorites. To play, you take a photo of your plate, text it, and ask, "Where am I?" Last year during Thanksgiving week, he knew instantly where I was. Last week in Vancouver, BC, I wanted to much to send him a photo of my plate and ask the question. (Someday I will, even though some stranger with that phone number will wonder who would send a photo of food and ask that.) I raised a glass and toasted our friendship. Here's to Dan and his indomitable spirit! Love to all.
