From Dan:

I continue to do well this week. I had a radiation consultation a couple of days ago and was basically informed that radiation will only be necessary near the end of my treatment if the chemo fluid that is specifically targeting my spine/bone is not fully effective. The radiation is meant to go directly after that area and kill what’s left of cancer cells. Unfortunately, that means I’ll need another spinal tap, because the one I had done was not completely conclusive. Not thrilled about that but, oh well.
Also, as of yesterday my hair had started to fall out. I noticed it while showering. It was just strands but it was still a defining moment for me. I’ve seen a lot of movies and TV moments that showed such a disheartening moment when that happens. Thankfully, I was already planning to shave it down when and if it happened. Better to be preemptive and own it than just get sad as it happens, ya know?
On the bright side, I had two co-workers bring me dinner and catch me up on what’s going on at work, which was awesome. Them and the many others who have been visiting in recent weeks to bring food or otherwise has been a real joy. If you want to come visit this next week, please let me know. Since my health is mostly good and the next chemo is on the 21st, it’s perfect timing.
Much love to all.
