Journal entry by Whitney Rappana

Hello Everyone,

Dan is home!!! It was a long journey but he is finally home.  His original flight home was on March 31st, but that was closing/moving day for the new house, so it was moved to April 2nd.  But then he was diagnosed with pneumonia.  He was finally able to fly home on Monday,  April 5th on an evening flight. He flew home during a crazy lighting storm, had to sit on the runway for over an hour, and after all that, his wheelchair was returned to him with a missing a part!  Needless to say, we are all happy that the travels are over and that he is home safe and sound.

Things have changed a lot in the past several months, including buying  a house that better accommodates a wheelchair and is closer to hospitals and therapy for Dan. It has been two weeks now and we are all adjusting to new routines, new needs, and the new house.  But we are all so happy to be together again and are finding our stride.  Dan is doing at home therapy and getting used to the new normal of life.  Doctors orders are to take some time to adjust to this new way of living and to spend time with his family.

Our next necessity has been finding a wheelchair van for Dan so that he is able to leave the house and eventually go back to work.  Please share Dan's story and our gofundme if you are able.  Every little bit donated helps so much.  Please help us get to our goal!

So many people have helped us get this far and we are so grateful.  People cooked meals for us, helped us move, provided rides to and from places, and have been a support near and far.  We feel so loved and it means more than we could ever express.  Not least of all, thank you for your prayers!  We know prayer is what has gotten us to this point.  God's grace is forever sufficient and we feel His and your love every day.
