Journal entry by Stephanie Larson

As 2020 comes to a close, I’d like to thank each and everyone of you for all your kind thoughts, prayers, notes, texts, cards, and phone calls. Please know that each and everyone of them have been read and appreciated. My prayer is that each and everyone of you feel the peace and comfort that we do in knowing that dad is now in his eternal home. As I visited his gravesite today, I was reminded that buried there was his earthly body, the body that was in constant discomfort, the body that struggled to breathe, the body that was just weak and worn out. At the same time I was reminded that his beautiful soul is now in heaven, free of all that earthly “baggage” he carried around for so long. How AMAZING is that!?!?!?! How AWESOME is it that we just celebrated the birthday of the ONE who came to earth, born in His earthly body, to endure all the things that we were supposed to endure, just so that we can have eternity when we leave our earthly bodies behind. What a BEAUTIFUL and PEACEFUL thought!!!! Let that sink in. Death is NOT the end of us!! Just the end of our earthly journey, full of baggage. Eternity is where it’s at! I know full well I will see my dad again!! And I find great peace and comfort in knowing that.
As I close, I’m reminded of lyrics from a great song sung by The Afters that I’d like to share with you. I envision Jesus singing this to my dad as He took his hand and lead him to his eternal home......
“Well done, well done, my good and faithful one! Welcome to the place where you belong! Well done, well done, My beloved child, you have run the race and now you’re home. Welcome to the place where you belong. Well done!”

Merry CHRISTmas and Happy New Year to all!!
