Hello everyone. We are doing well. Danny is healing up and God willing we'll be headed home tomorrow. 

He will be starting a target drug called Votrient. This medication is not a chemotherapy. This is a targeted therapy drug. The side effects should be milder. 

Targeted therapy is unlike chemo in that it does not kill all cells. Chemotherapy kills all rapidly dividing cells, whether cancer cells or normal cells. Targeted therapy targets specific characteristics and areas of the cancer cell. In the case of Votrient this medication blocks the proteins that help make blood vessels. By blocking these targets the hope is that the cancer will shrink.

Danny will be starting the medication in the new year since he is still healing. This medication reduces healing. So he cannot take it yet because of the surgery.
