Journal entry by Danny Bridges —
Danny MD Anderson Bridges update- so, as of this morning, Danny Bridges only has one more round of chemotherapy left to finish out on Thursday, then no more chemo!! Yay! He is scheduled to have only 4 more radiation treatments including today!! Everyone, put on your cheerleading outfits and let's all rally around Danny. This is the worst time of treatment, the hardest, most painful part to endure, the very end. Please come out on Facebook to show your support and love that I know we all feel for him. Overall, honestly, he is not feeling well at all, mentally and physically. But, that, unfortunately comes with the treatment. His appointments keep changing, as the doctors are down to crunch time, and trying to give him the best care he can receive before heading home for a while....to wait. Apparently, from what I understand, the radiation and chemotherapy continue working for a while, even though they are no longer being physically applied to the body. So, they will give him a small break, then we will be coming back to Houston on November the 12th, so that docs can do what I am assuming will be a series of scans. We will get more concrete information this morning at 10:30am when we see his radiation oncologist, Dr. Gunn. This is the doctor that Danny most respects, so hopefully he will continue to stay the course, and let us know that we can be headed home on the 26th. That's exactly 10 days from now. Although this week for Danny will definitely be the worst, it is the most crucial week of all- the week that he needs as much encouragement as he can get. His mind is strong- however, there is no doubt that his mental faculties are being a bit affected. He is struggling to get up and go to his treatments this past week, and this week. I can see he needs more help now than ever. We all need to lift him up as high as we can. Trust me, he reads all of your posts everyday, or if he's not feeling well, i read to him. Let him know he can do it!! The finish line is so close! Hopefully we will see many of you soon. Thank you so very much, Tammy.
