Dan began his hospice journey March 21, 2018 after an extended illness with COPD and Emphysema.
In March and April Dan was able to enjoy visiting with a lot of friends. He enjoyed a 3 day weekend with his
4 grand kids and visits from many relatives. Dan got to be the "best man" at a surprise wedding for a member of our family. Dan has enjoyed time with his sons Andy, and Jason helping them rummage the garage and pick out some of his tools that will now become theirs. Dan also enjoyed time with all of the young men he has mentored the last few years. Many family and friends have been bringing laughter, joy, cookies and cakes to Dan. Everyone knows he loves sweets.
In a May Dan enjoyed a weeks vacation relaxing with his wife and on May 15th went to a park where a friend took some beautiful memory photos of Dan and Cathi. 
Dan has gotten to enjoy some special time with his great nieces and nephews and leave them words of his wisdom.
Dan has enjoyed laughing and joking with his Hospice nurses and giving them a hard time. He has a great Hospice team taking care of him. 
As we enter June, Dan is sleeping more and not feeling up to a lot of visitors so we will keep everyone updated through this caring bridge site. 
This weekend our 2 sons, daughter in laws and grandkids spent an evening with Dan. It was a time of sharing and a time to quietly say goodbyes.
As this week continues, Dan has begin sleeping all of the time. He is listening to quiet music and is very relaxed and peaceful. His mind and body are preparing for the final journey.
