Daniel & Laura’s Story

Site created on February 18, 2023

Daniel & Laura Tegge have been a force for the kingdom of heaven. During their 12.5 years of marriage, they gave the world 6 beautiful babies. They have given so generously of themselves and their resources. They love fiercely.  And they are not ashamed to speak God's truth to a hurting world. God has used them in mighty ways to further His kingdom and for His glory.

Recently Laura had been pregnant with their 6th baby. She began having some pregnancy complications. On Wednesday February 15, 2023 Laura gave birth to a son, Jairus Christian, via c-section. Born at 31 weeks, he is a tiny fighter, weighing 3 lbs 13 ounces at birth. Friday February 17, 2023 Laura unexpectedly went home to heaven after pregnancy complications became too great for her body to fight. She leaves a gaping hole in the lives of those who loved her. And yet, we do not grieve like those who have no hope. We know Laura is living her absolute best, most perfect life worshipping at the feet of Jesus.

This page is designed for anyone who wants to feel connected to the Tegges as we grieve this loss together. Feel free to add memories or encouraging words in the comments sections. We'd also love to read any stories you may have of how Laura impacted your life. We want to create a bank of memories to share with her children so that they have a way to know their mom through the eyes of others who have known her.

Jairus is doing so well as he continues to grow and strengthen during his NICU stay. We praise God for his health! Here's a few things he's been up to:

-He continues to grow and thrive! His family and hospital staff have been very impressed with how well he is doing.
-He's been charming the NICU staff during his stay :) Word is, one nurse who has been at Children's Hospital for over 10 years said he is the most gentlemanly baby she's ever worked with!
-This week he was introduced to a bottle. Prayers would be appreciated around this as it is a big skill that he will continue to learn. He's doing a great job so far and will continue to work with hospital staff to learn how to get even better.
-He loves being held :)
-He has family photos and kids artwork up all over his room to create a cheery space, but can't wait to be home with his family!
