Pat..Dan is looking down on you all now and he has to be so proud of the incredible send-off you prepared...the outpouring of love was pretty special..
I'm still trying to wrap my head around this...continued love and peace as you maneuver through these next days..
Pat, the service was beautiful and Dan’s love of family, friends and everyone else was evident throughout the service. In our church, we have a song that says, “May the life I’ve lived speak for me” and “May the service I give speak for me”. It is clear that Dan’s life and service spoke for him yesterday and will continue to speak for him through his family, his students/residents, his patients and through all of us who were blessed to know him and to call him friend and colleague. Continued love and hugs to you and the family.
That was a very moving remembrance yesterday. It encapsulated who DVD is, was, and will always be in our hearts.
Wish the family much love as the days and weeks churn on with the hope that every once in a while you’ll be driving down the road playing and singing his song in his “subtle tuba” voice and waving the handkerchief in epic DVD fashion.
