Thoughts & Well Wishes

Dear Hollis Family,

I'm so sorry for your loss and for the pain you are going through.  I didn't know Daniel, but as the father of two young boys (10 and 7), the story really struck a chord with me.  I will definitely hug my boys a little tighter when I get home tonight.  I'm keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Although I never met your son, as Manager of the Emerson Channel Sports, I definitely knew of him as a Lacrosse player.  And as a mother of 2 boys ages 14 and 16, I can't imagine your loss.  The Emerson community has always rallied around it's own and feel a tremendous void when we lose a member.  Please know you have thousands sending their love and light your way.  Thank you for your brave and perhaps heart wrenching decision to donate your son's organs.  He will absolutely be saving many lives because of it.  My sincerest condolences to you all.

Nothing I say can take away the grief you must be feeling with the loss of your son, but please know that the Emerson and Boston communities (and beyond) are holding your family in their hearts. As the parent of an Emerson grad, I know what a caring community it is. I only hope that the sunshine that your son exuded continues to add light to your days, and that everyday the memories of him make the light in your lives brighter and brighter. He will always be with you, so look for the signs he sends to remind you. Until then, wrap yourselves in the love being sent your way until the sun shines again. With much love...
