Dan’s Story

Site created on March 21, 2021

Many of you have been following Dan’s journey with Glioblastoma on his blog or social media and may have noticed he hasn’t posted anything recently. Dan transitioned from radiation and chemotherapy treatments to in-home hospice care on Monday March 22, 2021.

He truly values his relationship with you and wants to stay connected as his capacity allows. We have created this portal to facilitate communication. His care team will post updates here and make sure Dan receives your messages of love and support.  He’s very eager to socialize and has had his 2nd vaccine- his 2 week waiting period will be achieved April 8th.   In the meantime, with safe covid protocol in place, he would enjoy visiting during the day when his energy is better.  Typically, a chat over coffee or around lunch hour is best. We’d request setting that up ahead of time.

Thank you to those who’ve asked for ways to help show your care for Dan. We’ve provided a link to Meal Train- you can find it under 'Ways to Help'.
His new address is: 8615 Sawyer Brown/Nashville,TN 37221

Journal entry by Danna Haile

Hi everyone,
We're looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow at the rustic farm retreat center for dad's memorial!
Just wanted to send out a couple reminders:
It will be warm, and we will be outside so dress accordingly (casual and cool :)
*Bonus points if you bring your reusable water bottle*
The ground is rocky and uneven so please wear sturdy shoes.
The seating at the outdoor chapel is backless benches, so feel free to bring a chair if you need back support.
When you arrive, someone will tell you where to park.
Love y'all!
Patients and caregivers love hearing from you; add a comment to show your support.
