Journal entry by Janna Patrick —
Ashley went to stay with Mom on Friday and as soon as she walked in, Mom said, "Hey!"
OMG. She was already awake and talking! MUCH more than Thursday, where she just said that she hurt.
We were ecstatic! We immediately got on a video chat through What's App to say hey and to see how well she was doing.
She slept for most of the day, in some pain. They were giving her 3 different pain meds at different intervals all day, but she still felt it and would grab on to Ashley's hand when it was really bad. The nurses said the pain is to be expected, but they were treating it.
Shout out to Valerie, who spearheaded the entire liver transplant process from diagnosis to now. She somehow handled the billion things Mom needed as well as her 7-member family schedule and I honestly don't know how she did it. ❤
Enjoy a picture from our video chat. 🤣
