You are walking sacred space. My prayers continue for you, for Dan, and for your family. Hospice is a special time in the life of the one whose time is short, giving them room to love and be loved without the intrusion of treatment. My daughter is a hospice nurse and it takes a special person to do the this kind of work; it's ministry actually. She also worked in medical oncology and she worked very hard to see the human being and to be mindful the person is not the illness; caring for them in the struggle for a cure or remission, caring for them when they wanted more time (always more time) with family and friends; and finally, when the veil was thin and they were transformed from life to life--caring for the sacred vessel that held that precious life after death. These days are precious today and will be even more precious in the days, weeks, months, and years to come. God's love and peace continue to hold you tenderly.
