Journal entry by Dana Swanson —
I have yet another unfortunate update on my journey….
I went in and saw my gynecologist oncologist to discuss if I could wait a bit longer to get my hysterectomy so I could get all healed up first from my breast surgeries and she recommended I get a CT scan to make sure nothing is abnormal at this time before making a decision. I had that done yesterday and my female organs are all fine thank goodness, but they found an abnormality in my right lung that looked like a blood clot so I was sent today for a CT of my chest to further evaluate. That came back positive, so now I unfortunately have to take a blood thinner for 3-6 months and get my heart checked as well as the clot is putting pressure on my heart. My hysterectomy will be put off until after treatment and will most likely now be in the later fall.
I have chosen to take my breast reconstruction completely off the table for at least another year or even longer as I am so over all this one thing after another course I seem to be on and rightfully so as I am nervous to undergo anymore surgeries after all I have been through.
This journey feels nevvvvvvvver ending 😖
Thank you for all the continued thoughts & prayers as I continue to tackle what comes my way 🩷🙏🏻
