Journal entry by martha amstutz —
As you know Dan fell off a roof and broke 9 ribs, had liver laceration, concusion, and a collapsed lung.
We thought he was making progress but his breathing was declining even though the docs said that was normal. Yesterday he was moved back to ICU and his breathing became more labored but the docs did not want to put fim on the vent. He was receiving oxygen but was not enough. Tomorrow he will be having surgery to remove gunk from dried pooled blood that has accumalated up around his broken clavicle bone and throughout his lung (infection) since he has to be vented to have surgery they went ahead and did the procedure so he could be comfortable. The surgery will be done by a cardiothorastic surgeon. We are tired emotionally as it has been an up and down week.We covet your prayers for our family!! thank you
