Journal entry by Brian Gainey

Today the boys and I planted a tree, a Tulip Magnolia in honor of Dana for Mother's Day.  It is right outside of our breakfast table window.  I hope that with a little bit of love and attention it will grow deep & strong, and that it will be with us for a long time.  Before we planted the tree, we enjoyed lunch with Dana's mom Claudia and my mom Elaine.  I am so grateful for both Moms!  And I am the most grateful for the wonderful mother Dana was to our boys!  I’ve heard it said that a mother’s love stays with you long after she is gone.  Every little bit of encouragement, her hugs and especially her prayers are always with you.  It’s also my hope that the little bit of time we were blessed with Dana will follow the boys and go a long way to preparing them for life in the world.  Finally, it is my hope that Dana is worshiping the Father and Son and that she never turn away.

Please pray for continued resiliency for me and the boys.  I have been so amazed by the resiliency of the boys.  They are strong and have successfully bounced back.  Pray that Carson and Elliott finish the school year strong and that I make it past the 18th.  The 18th is our anniversary and it would have been 27 years; a little bit more than a good start.  Pray that we all keep bouncing back.

Psalms 27:13-14 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!
