It has been a full year since Damian received his heart transplant! It amazes me every day. His heart is doing so wonderful. We are both grateful every day to his heart donor and think of their family frequently. Every moment I have with him is because their loved one gave him a new lease on life.
We’ve had a lot of hiccups along the way but he and I are dealing with each thing as they come. Things are on the uphill swing I think!
Damian still uses the wheelchair but he is starting, for short distances, to use a cane. Physical, occupational and speech therapy is going wonderful.
We are going to be doing the evaluation for the kidney transplant in the near future and hopefully we will be able to find a living donor fast so Damian can start collage in the fall next year.
He made it to the year mark!! 😁😃😁
