Journal entry by Dale Deur

A follow-up report!
On Thursday we made the trek once again to Iowa City for a CT scan and visit with the oncology team.  After reviewing the scan, we met first with the PA, then the oncolgist.
Here is the synopsis of the scan results:
1.  The masses on the right kidney and both adrenal glands have shrunk even more since my last scan three months ago (good news, shows that the immunotherapy is working).
2.  My pancreas looks wonky (sorry for using technical terms).  They thought it could indicate pancreatitis.  When we told them that I had had a bout of pancreatitis earlier this spring, and when the test results for the indicators cam back normal, they seemed a lot less concerned about this.  They told me if I had an onset of pancreatitis to go to the ER.  I assured the that I would.
3.  There was a spot in my liver that wasn't there last time.  They couldn't tell what it was from the scan.  Dr Zecharia said it could be a fatty tumor or a mass of vessels, and felt that the best course of action will be to watch it.
So, we will return for another scan in 3 months.  Like always, this is in God's hands.  I am feeling fine, and able to do pretty much whatever I want.  So, life goes on!
Thanks for your prayers and support.  Enjoy your advent season as we look forward to celebrating Christmas!
