Journal
Yesterday, unfortunately, our friend and mentor took his last breath. It is so sad to lose him so soon. Many of us had plans with him post retirement. He left a lasting positive impression on all of us.
Aubrey appreciated your support through this difficult time. She read all your messages on this site to Dale. She was a real trooper throughout Dale's journey and I know he was proud of the woman that she has become.
I knew Dale through basketball officiating and while he was not large in stature, he was huge in that avocation. He mentored many and was a role model to all for doing it the right way. His contribution to the sport was massive and it will live long beyond his life with us.
He strived for perfection, whether it was with his family, running and working out, Fred Meyer, golf or officiating. In my officiating world he came as close to perfection as possible. By his own admission, however, he was a little over meticulous in preparing to hit a golf shot, ha. But that was Dale and we loved him.
I, like I'm sure many of you, have shed more than a few tears over his final time on this earth. This is hard for me to write because of its finality. Dale, you will be forever missed. I love you.
